The Amelia Jeans

I’m so excited to be able to finally share the Amelia jeans pattern from my wonderful friend Becky at All Access Sewing. Becky has been working for the last two years to create a truly adaptable pattern range. All her patterns are available in ambulatory or seated versions and she has put so much thought into making them accessible to everyone. All of the instructions are written in a clear, dyslexia friendly font and are accompanied by clear diagrams so every learning style is catered for.

I pattern tested the seated version of the jeans which has the following:

1)Elasticated Waist

2) Cut to be higher in the back and

lower in the front

3)Adjusted hem line to accommodate

a seated position

4) Optional working fly

5)Optional side openings, partial or full

leg

6) Optional dressing straps for easier

dressing

7) Accessories for accommodating or

accessing medical equipment

8) Minimal seams on the back

9) Front thigh pockets

10) Darts at the knees to accommodate a

knee bend

11) Optional knee lift straps to aid in leg

positioning

12) Designed and drafted using seated measurements

Becky is launching her new pattern range at the Creative Craft Show at the NEC this weekend and I will be modelling these jeans on the catwalk for her so please come along and support us and see her other designs. We’d love to see you.
